# Field Service Automation: What It Handles & How It Works

Every field service business runs on the same loop: a job comes in, someone schedules it, a tech drives to it, the work gets done, an invoice goes out, and hopefully a payment comes back. ### How it works in practice: one job, start to finish

Here is the loop with automation on, using Cleri as the example:

1. A customer books. The system checks crew availability and slots the job. Confirmation text goes out. Nobody touched anything yet.
2. The morning of, the tech opens the app: today's route is ordered by location, with job details, gate codes, and past-visit notes attached.
3. The tech taps "en route." The customer gets an ETA text automatically.

### What automation looks like by trade
